Heavy Winds Topple Wires On Route 206, 1K Without Power
The highway in Montgomery is closed on Monday afternoon as a result. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory through 3 p.m.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — Heavy winds have caused a utility pole and wires to come down across Route 206 in Montgomery on Monday.
Police sent out an alert around 11:55 a.m. reporting the incident on the highway between Route 518 and Orchard Road.
As a result of the downed wires, more than 1,000 PSE&G customers are without power in the area. PSE&G estimates power will be restored by 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and follow posted detours.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory through 3 p.m. on Monday. Winds are expected to hit 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

JCP&L is also reporting outages across Somerset County including more than 1,400 in Basking Ridge due to the severe weather. There is no estimated restoration time yet.
