Hillsborough Church Repeatedly Vandalized, Christmas Decorations Stolen

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Theft of Christmas decorations and vandalism continue to plague a church in Hillsborough.

Since Dec. 12, Mary, Mother of God Church on South Triangle Road in Hillsborough has been targeted three times for crimes including criminal mischief and theft.

Hillsborough Police said on Dec. 12 and Dec. 23, criminal mischief to Christmas decorations was reported.

Recently, on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 10:55 a.m., Hillsborough Police reported a theft and criminal mischief at the church.

Mail and Christmas decorations were reportedly stolen from the church's property and some of the decorations on display were knocked over, said police.

Tapinto Hillsborough reported the items vandalized included a nativity display where Jesus' left arm was broken and Joseph was knocked over facedown.

The crimes are currently under investigation. Anyone with information can contact the Hillsborough Township Police Department at 908-369-4323.
