The Hillsborough Dukes Pee Wee football team won 16-6 in a hard fought battle in Hillsborough against the Maplewood Packers.
The Packers started with the ball first on the Duke 48 yard line and on their first play from scrimmage racked up 15 yards. Two plays later nose guard Gavin Potts stifled the center causing a fumble which Potts came up with to give the Dukes the ball on their own 38.
Alan Holman took the pitch and went around the right end for a pickup of 8 yards. The Dukes could not get anything going and had to punt and saw the Packers furious rush block the punt and take over on the Duke 29 yard line.

The Packers were able to punch it in to go up 6-0. The extra point was halted by Potts.
Sean Levonaitis caught Maplewood’s kickoff on his 30 and returned it to the Packer 47 yard line. The Dukes were faced with a 3rd and 17 when Homan found Kyle Smith in the flat for a 15 yard gain. Maplewood stopped the Duke drive and took over on downs. The next play a Packer broke free around the end when Adam “The Beast” Schebece waffled the ball carry to stop the first down and end the first quarter.

On the next play Potts quickness caused another fumble in which he came up with for his second fumble recovery of the day. Two plays later the Dukes fumbled the ball back to the Packers. The Packers QB dropped back to pass on a 3rd and long when Sean Ostregen blitzed from his ILB position forcing the Packer QB to hurry his throw where Kyle Smith picked off the pass and brought the ball back to the Packer 34 yard line.
The Dukes took over and on the first play Levonaitis rumbled for 25 yards to give the Dukes a first and goal from the 9 yard line. Levonaitis took the handoff from Holman and broke 4 tackles spinning his way into the endzone. The sure footed Daniel Chesner added the 2 point kick to put the Dukes up 8-6.
Maplewood received the kickoff and started from their own 30 yard line. Mark McLain crashed from his defensive end position sacking the Packer QB for a loss. The Packers started to drive and were fighting the clock so the Packer QB dropped back to pass. Alan Holman had perfect coverage and picked off the pass and followed a host of Duke blocking but fell one block shoot of having a pick 6 which ended the half with the Dukes up 8-6.
The Dukes started the second half with the ball and 2 plays into the second half coughed it up. Two plays later Maplewood pitched left and found Holman fly up from his cornerback position causing a fumble recovered by Aiden Lugo at midfield. Schebece went 25 yards around the end and muscled a nice gain but was nullified by a controversial holding penalty. The Dukes were faced with a 1st and 20 when Levonaitis took the pitch around the other end recording 20 yards. Another penalty moved the Dukes back again and were faced with a 3rd and 11 when Holman found Levonaitis for a diving caught that netted 16 yards and a first down. With running backs by committee Schebece , Levoanaitis, Holman and Jason Chedid brought the ball down to the 9 yard line where Levonaitis cashed in for his second TD of the day. Chesner recorded the 2
