Hillsborough Fire Marshal Honored For Help With Massive Warehouse Blaze In 2016

The fire caused more than 30 fire companies from at least five different counties and more than 200 emergency vehicles to help.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Last year, a massive warehouse fire raged on in Hillsborough for two days causing emergency officials to work around the clock in the bitter cold to try and put it out.

The fire had broken out at Veteran’s Administration Industrial Park in the north end of Route 206 in Hillsborough on Feb. 12 causing more than 30 fire companies from at least five different counties across the state and more than 200 emergency vehicles to help out on the scene.

As a result of the Hillsborough Fire Department's efforts and assistance during the investigation of the 2016 VA Depot fire, the U.S. Division of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms presented the Hillsborough Fire Marshal Christopher Weniger with a plaque.

"For 8 straight days following the fire our staff worked along side the ATF during the origin and cause investigation," Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety said.
