Hillsborough's Women-Owned Small Business, Entrepreneurs Honored
Hillsborough Township presented a proclamation to 3 township businesses honoring National Women's Small Business Month.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough women's small businesses and entrepreneurs were honored by the township recently.
Mayor Shawn Lipani read a proclamation honoring National Women's Small Business Month during the Tuesday night committee meeting.
In 1972 only 4.6 percent of businesses in America were owned by women compared to 42 percent today. That is nearly 13 million women-owned businesses that employ 9.4 million people and generate more than 1.9 trillion in revenue, said Lipani.

Among those honored was Marisa Narula from Code Ninjas, Jayne Mochnacz from Super Sundaes, and Lydia Imhauser from Industrial Tube Corporation.
"It is an honor to receive this proclamation from Mayor Lipani, the EDC, and Small Business Advocate David Kois. Hillsborough has been such a warm and welcoming community to open a business in. Everyone at the Township was always so helpful and made themselves available to us during the whole process. Not only is Hillsborough a 'great place to live' but it is also a wonderful place to have a business in!" said Narula.

Narula opened her business at 649 Route 206 in 2019.
Mochnacz opened Super Sundaes at 435 Amwell Rd. about 23 years ago.
"It is amazing to see how much our town has changed in the 23 years," said Mochnacz. "I couldn't actually do my job if I didn't have such a great group of people to support me even with the changes we experienced during COVID. It's wonderful to see so many people come out and support us — not just us but our whole town."
Imhauser is the fourth generation to own Industrial Tube Corporation at 293 Valley Rd.
"We've been in Hillsborough since the late 60s. To see Route 206 go from a dirt road to what it is right now, is very amazing," said Imhauser.
Hillsborough Business Advocate David Kois was especially proud of all the businesses in town.
"This month is all about these amazing women we have in the township running and operating their businesses," said Kois. "It really is an honor and privilege to work so closely with the different businesses."
