Warehouse Proposal On Homestead Road To Be Heard In Hillsborough Thursday

This is one of five warehouse proposals currently before the Hillsborough Township Planning Board.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A proposed application to build a 137,413-square-foot warehouse in the township will continue to be heard before the Hillsborough Planning Board on Thursday night.

S.W.A.T. (Stop Warehouses and Trucks), a group of concerned citizens, have been a strong opponent to the project. This proposal was why the group originally organized in opposition.

The warehouse proposed by the applicant, Homestead 279 LLC, will be located at 279 Homestead Road between Route 206 Bypass and Route 206.

The proposal is looking to subdivide 17.11 acres into two lots:

  • Proposed Lot A to front on Homestead Road and contain 5.41 acres to retain the existing commercial use and improvement
  • Proposed Lot B to contain 11.7 acres and the subject of the major site plan, to construct a 137,413 square foot warehouse with internal office space, associated parking, lighting, stormwater, and improvements, on property in the LI, Light Industrial Zoning District.

The Hillsborough Township Planning Board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m., in the Courtroom of the Municipal Complex, The Peter J. Biondi Building, 379 S Branch Rd.
