Shooting In Somerset County: Man Arrested, No Injuries

MANVILLE, NJ — A Highland Park man was arrested in connection to gunshots fired in Manville on Tuesday later afternoon, said Somerset County Acting Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.

Emmanuel Williams, 23, of Woodbridge Avenue, Highland Park was charged with second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

On Tuesday at about 4:20 p.m., a 911 reported shots fired in the area of South Street and South 3rd Avenue. When Manville Police Officers arrived they did not find any injured victims, said Taggart.

Williams was found to be one of the people involved in the shooting, following an investigation by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Detectives from the Manville Police Department.

Williams was arrested on scene without incident. He was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Detectives from the Manville Police Department and detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are continuing the investigation.
