Millstone River Is Forecast To Flood
Breaking; Other Somerset County areas including in Manville, Bound Brook, North Branch and Millington are also slowly rising.

FRANKLIN, NJ — The Millstone River is forecast to flood Saturday morning.
A nor'easter is blanketing the area with rain and snow and causing local rivers, including the Millstone, Raritan, North Branch Raritan and Passaic, to rise slowly, but steadily.
When last reported at 5 p.m., the Millstone River flood gauge at Blackwells Mills read that the river there was 7.79 feet high which is above the action stage for the river at seven feet. Minor flood stage is nine feet, with moderate flood stage at 10 feet.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is projecting the Millstone River to rise to 9.4 feet by Saturday.

As of 5 p.m., the Raritan River was at more than 10.83 feet high in Manville and 25.53 feet high in Bound Brook, according to the NOAA's flood gauge.
The river is forecast to rise to 12.6 feet in Manville and 27.3 feet high in Bound Brook, both well into the action stage.
The North Branch Raritan River was at 7.42 feet high as of 5 p.m. and forecast to crest at 9 feet Saturday, just barely getting into the action stage.
The Passaic River in Millington is at 6.37 feet high and is forecast to crest into the action stage at 7 feet.
