FRANKLIN, NJ — "My mom fall down and can't talk."

That's the first thing 4-year-old Isla Glaser of Franklin Township said when she called 911. A call that ended up saving her mom's life.

Franklin Township police released the 911 call that occurred on Dec. 6 just before 8 a.m., when a brave and quick-thinking Isla called 911 and remained calm as she talked with a police dispatcher. Isla can be heard also talking to a police officer through a locked front door as he walks her through how to open it. (Hear the entire call below)

Isla told police that her mom fell down and needed help. She gave all of the necessary information to the dispatchers to help get police to her house on Bartle Road in the Somerset section of the township, police said.

When Officers Frank Mahon and Michael Casey got to the home they couldn't get inside because the door was locked. They were able to talk to Isla through the door and instruct her to drag a chair to the door so she could reach the lock, police said.

After Isla unlocked the door, first responders went inside and began to help her mother, Haley Glaser, who was unconscious on the floor, police said.

"Despite Isla's tender age, she showed a great deal of poise and bravery, but it didn't stop there," police said.

While responders were helping Haley, Isla began to care for her three younger siblings who were ages 2.5 and twin 1 year olds by giving them breakfast and assuring them that "mommy was going to be OK."

Haley was transported to a local area hospital where she was admitted and treated for four days. She is now home and recovering.

"If not for the swift and sure actions of Isla, this could have had a very different outcome," police said.
