The NRPA Young Professionals Network, in conjunction with the National Recreation and Park Association is hosting National Visit a Park Day on Friday, October 4.
Visit a Park Day is a nationwide initiative to set aside all unnecessary obligations to visit a local, state, regional, or national park. Hillsborough offers many outstanding parks, each with their own unique features and setting. A parks directory is available on our website.
The national goal of Visit a Park Day is to engage residents to learn more about their local parks, acknowledge the vast amount of recreational opportunities, and to foster future enjoyment and visitation to the parks.
Of course, you are probably wondering how you can celebrate. Well, it's easy! Get together with your friends and family at a park. Enjoy the park's resources: softball fields, soccer fields, basketball courts, a fishing pond, a skate park, walking and hiking trails, and picnic pavilions are available at the parks. Then take a picture of your family and friends visiting the park to our Facebook and Twitter pages with the hashtag #VisitaParkDay. We will share our favorites.
In recent years, National Visit a Park Day has seen great success across the country. Now, it's time for Hillsborough to add to that success. We'll see you at the parks on Friday, October 4 for National Visit a Park Day!
