Need For Food Service Volunteers At Quail Brook Senior Center

SOMERSET, NJ — Help positively impact lives by volunteering for the Home Delivered Meals program.

Volunteers will help with various kitchen functions such as meal preparation, and portioning and packing meals at the Quail Brook Senior Center, 625 New Brunswick Road, Somerset from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Volunteers must complete a criminal background check and fingerprinting before the first day of volunteering. Somerset County provides free background checks and fingerprinting. Volunteers will need reliable transportation to and from the senior center.

Volunteering can add meaning and purpose to one’s life and have a positive impact on the lives of others. Studies have shown that volunteers gain a sense of joy when giving their time and talents.

About the Home Delivered Meals Program
Home Delivered Meals provides nutritionally balanced meals to seniors who are homebound due to a medical condition or the aging process. A registered dietician designs menus for Home Delivered Meals to meet one-third of the nutritional requirements for an older adult. Seniors will also receive frozen and shelf-stable meals to store for use on holidays and weather emergencies.
