New Hillsborough Township Mayor To Be Chosen, Committee To Reorganize For 2026

The new Township Committee will be selecting a new mayor and deputy mayor to serve in 2026.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township residents will see a new mayor sworn in on Tuesday night during the committee's reorganization meeting.

The Mayor is selected each year by committee members through a vote. John Ciccarelli is the current Mayor.

Ciccarelli lost his re-election bid to Democrat Jill Gomez in the November election. Gomez received 10,193 votes over Ciccarelli's 8,378 votes.

During the meeting, a Deputy Mayor will also be selected along with township positions, committee appointments, meeting schedule, and more.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 379 South Branch Road, Hillsborough.
