Post-Superbowl Meeting Has a Thematic Start
But the agenda turns to business as usual for the remainder of the meeting.

Taking place just two days after the Super Bowl, Tuesday’s Township Committee meeting starts with a somewhat thematic proclamation—recognition of resident Shavonne Leacy for winning the New York Giants Pass, Punt and Kick competition.
Other items on the agenda include authorizing the township attorney, Albert Cruz, to enter a settlement with Stop and Shop regarding a tax appeal, a resolution increasing the 2011 temporary emergency budget and accepting the resignation of Siobhan Weikel, secretary to the Township Administrator/Clerk, effective Feb. 8.
The Township Committee also has a resolution accepting Sieman’s Energy, Inc. to prepare an investment grade audit and energy savings plan by March 31, at no cost to the township.

In addition, the township will introduce five ordinances during the meeting, with most having public hearings next month.
The first ordinance, 2011-06, authorizes the sale of and access and maintenance easement on a portion of Vroom Drive. Though Vroom Drive is a paper street, meaning it only exists on planning maps of the township and is not an actual street, the ordinance allows for a public auction on the street. A public hearing is set for March 8.
