Prosecutor: Boy, Biological Parents Seeking Reality-TV 'Adventure' Still Missing

Everett Streko's biological parents, who sought to film their cross-country adventure, are the suspects in the alleged kidnapping.

A new photo has emerged but an 8-year-old boy allegedly kidnapped by his biological parents is still missing, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Crime Stoppers of Somerset County, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to whereabouts of Michael Streko, 34; Amy Streko, 32; and their son, Everett (see photo).

Everett Streko was described as 4 feet tall and weighing approximately 60 pounds with green eyes, brown hair and fair skin. He was last seen by his grandmother/legal guardian at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16 at her residence located on Kings Court in Green Brook, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Michael and Amy Streko did not have custody of Everett. But they looked like a happy family when they announced their “On the road with the Strekos” project and posted on Facebook in May. The three planned to travel America, selling food from their RV, filming themselves and interviewing people while raising money to fund the trip through “Kickstarter.”

“I just know from past experience that we we’re going to have try it out,” Amy Streko said in the video, appearing reluctant to take this trip.

The Kickstarter campaign never materialized, the fundraising page was taken down and several sites tracking Kickstarters say it raised $577 of its $25,000 goal, according to nj.com.

Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano says that the family are likely traveling with two dogs: an Italian Greyhound named “Duke” and a Black Mini Pincher named “Henry.”
