Route 206 Reopened, Utility Repairs Continue In Hillsborough
Route 206 has reopened in Hillsborough Monday following a gas leak. Drivers should still use caution as utility repairs continue.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Route 206 has reopened in both directions as of 5:30 p.m. in Hillsborough Monday following a gas leak.
Drivers are advised to still use caution in the area as utility repairs continue.
A contractor working on the bypass reportedly struck a gas pipe in front of 375 Rt. 206 causing a leak at around 10:23 a.m., police report.

The highway was shut down as a result in both directions between Andria Avenue and Triangle Road. No homes or businesses needed to be evacuated.
PSE&G shut off the gas and is working to repair the line. A detour had been in place until 5:30 p.m.

Responding agencies include the Hillsborough Police, Hillsborough Fire, RWJ Rescue Squad, Hillsborough OEM, State DOT, Hillsborough Fire Safety and Hillsborough MUA.
