Route 206 North To Close Overnight In Montgomery

The closure will take place from Saturday night until Sunday morning as part of the Route 206 Bridge over Crusers Brook project.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Route 206 north will be closing in Montgomery overnight this weekend to continue work on the Route 206 Bridge over Crusers Brook project, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials announced.

The closure on the northbound side will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16 until 4 a.m. Sunday, March 17. There will alternating traffic on Route 206 southbound over Crusers Brook to shift traffic onto the newly reconstructed center portion of the bridge, according to NJDOT.

The northbound lane will reopen Sunday morning with a work zone on the east side of the bridge. This will remain in effect until the fall as the northbound lane of the bridge is reconstructed and utility work is completed.

The $5.9 million federally-funded project will replace the bridge deck and substructure, and make significant improvements to the superstructure. The project is designed in stages to minimize impacts to traffic and maintain one lane of traffic in both directions during peak traffic periods. Replacement of the bridge deck is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019, NJDOT said.
