2 Restaurants In Hoboken Will Reopen After Renovations; A Third Will Stay Closed

HOBOKEN, NJ — Two popular restaurants on Washington Street in Hoboken that recently shut down will reopen after renovations, the staff said.

However, a third restaurant — Greek from Greece on River Street — will not reopen, a staff member said this week.

Reopening After Renovations

Hoboken Hot Bagels, a near landmark at 634 Washington St., has closed for now, but signs in the window note that it will reopen with a new oven after renovations are complete. A worker in the store last week said he expects the shop to reopen in 2-3 weeks.

Further uptown, Green Garden, an Asian restaurant at 1202 Washington St., has closed without any signage to explain. But a worker in the store said the owners expect to reopen in two to three months. The restaurant appears to be undergoing extensive renovations inside.

A third restaurant in Hoboken, Greek from Greece at 221 River St., closed early this year as COVID numbers rose, posting signs saying it was temporarily shut because of the pandemic.

Patch reached out in March and got a reply that they were "rebranding."

A week ago, people were seen inside the store, and all of the signs about COVID were finally removed from the front. A positive...sign? Well, maybe not.

A worker at the restaurant group's New York location said Monday that the Hoboken spot will not reopen. She did not say what will be coming in its place.
