Looking to take someone special on an outdoor date before the summer is gone? Try one of these four date suggestions in Hoboken.
PIER 13
With a self-described “backyard atmosphere,” Hoboken’s Pier 13 has become the go-to location for many an outdoor date night.

“Extending out into the Hudson and overlooking the stunning NYC skyline, Pier 13 is a family friendly beer garden that offers a variety of food, drinks, and activities,” the pier’s website states.
Located off Sinatra Drive near 13th Street, the pier is open from 4 to 11 p.m. during the week and from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the weekend.

FARMERS MARKETS
If you’re pairing up with a healthy eater, someone who likes supporting local food systems or someone who just likes the ambiance of a farmers market, you’re in luck.
Hoboken has three farmers markets, each of which commonly hosts a variety of free events, music and entertainment.
- Downtown Farmer’s Market: Washington St. & Newark St., Tuesdays, 3:00pm to 7:30pm (June 26 – Oct 26)
- Uptown Farmer’s Market: Hudson St. & 13th St., Thursdays, 2:00pm to 7:00pm (June 26 – Oct 24)
- Family Farmer’s Market: Garden Street Mews – Garden St & 14th St., Saturdays, 9:00am – 2:00pm (June 1 – Nov 23)
HAVE A DRINK ON A ROOFTOP BAR
If a drink on a Hoboken rooftop sounds like a romantic way to end the night, try The Dubliner, a neighborhood staple that has a view of New York City.
Named one of the Best Outdoor Bars in Hoboken by CBS New York, the bar is “only a block away from the PATH train, so easy access for all of your out-of-town friends.”
KAYAK ON THE HUDSON
The Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse hosts free kayak and stand up paddleboard days at Maxwell Park Beach on selected Sundays and Saturdays until September.
Programs are free and take place in a small bay area. All participants must know how to swim. Persons under 16 must paddle with a parent or an adult over 18. Organizers supply kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. Embayments are first-come first-serve.
