5 New Restaurants To Try That Opened In North Jersey In June 2023

Taking a summer drive around North Jersey? Here are five restaurants to try that announced openings in and around June 2023.

Blu On The Hudson, Weehawken

Blu on the Hudson, which opened in spring, is a 30,000-square-foot space offering sweeping waterfront views to go with their sushi and steak dishes. The Blu Sushi Bar sits off the main dining room of Blu on the Hudson. It serves a menu created by K Dong, who owns Hinoki Greenwich and Miku Sushi in Greenwich, Connecticut, in collaboration with Executive Chef Juan Carlos “JC” Ortega (BR Guest Hospitality’s Blue Fin, Blue Water Grill, and Catch Steak). Social Hub By Dhaba, Parsippany-Troy Hills

A new Indian restaurant has opened in place of the old Houlihan's in Parsippany. Social Hub By Dhaba held its soft opening on May 31. The restaurant is located at 1735 US-46, in Parsippany-Troy Hills. This is the 10th restaurant owned by Fine Indian Group. Besides the food, they boast a premium bar with cocktails and mocktails. Akasaka Bistro, Livingston

Akasaka Bistro, a sushi and hibachi restaurant, opened recently at 487 South Livingston Ave. in Livingston, and they've got an array of dishes to tempt your tongue. Check out this noodle soup, for one. See more photos here and find out more about the eatery here.

GG Caribbean Restaurant, East Orange

Mayor Ted Green helped restauant owner Glenis Gordon cut the ribbon last month on her family-owned business at 382 Main St. Officials said that “Antigua-born Ms. Gordon and her Guyanese-inspired cuisine represents the great melting pot of diversity that we call East Orange." Find out more here.

Treehouse Coffee, Downtown Jersey City

If you're a coffee lover, both Jersey City and neighboring Hoboken are burgeoning with small shops, each with its own personality. Treehouse was a trailblazer when it opened its first location on the west side of Jersey City, near a relatively new new light rail stop, in 2019. Now it's opened a second stop in bustling downtown with baked goods, an array of hot beverages, and creative baristas. Find them at 205 Brunswick St.
