500 Calls For Alcohol/Drugs/Poison In Hoboken In 5 Months: HVAC
The Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps has responded to more than 500 calls for "alcohol, drugs and poisoning" in five months.

HOBOKEN, NJ — As of the end of May, Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps (HVAC) has responded to more than 500 calls for “alcohol, drugs and poisoning” in 2018. This was one of several sobering statistics released by the HVAC as part of a recent update for the year. (See the report here)
On June 16, the HVAC released updated call stats current to the end of May with the following message: “We were busy! 2,186 calls YTD and zero patients have gotten a bill!”

- Alcohol/Drug/Poisoning – 506 calls
- “Behavioral” – 214
- Cardiovascular – 72
- Injury/Trauma – 227
- Cancel/Transport Only/No Medical Need – 468
- “Pain” – 176
- Respiratory – 124
- Syncope/Weakness/Dizziness - 198
