Abandoned Puppy Found With Broken Leg In Jersey City, Aid Effort Started

The 3-month old puppy was found "struggling to stand on a badly broken leg," Liberty Humane Society staff reported.

Jersey City, NJ – The Liberty Humane Society, which services Hoboken and Jersey City, recently issued the following story and call for donations involving Kismet, an abandoned puppy with a broken leg:

“Last weekend officers responded to reports of a dog crying in an apartment building hallway in Jersey City. When they arrived they found Kismet, a three month old puppy struggling to stand on a badly broken leg.”

“Kismet had been abandoned, and her injury wasn't new… To save her leg and give her a chance at an active, pain-free life, we scheduled Kismet for emergency orthopedic surgery. Medical interventions like this are not possible without your support. Please help us meet our goal to ensure continued emergency care for local homeless animals like Kismet.”
