After Confrontation With Hoboken Parking Utility Officer, Man Arrested
A Hoboken man was arrested after a Parking Utility worker told police that the man had tried to assault him.
HOBOKEN, NJ — A man was taken to the county jail last Thursday after a Hoboken Parking Utility officer claimed to have been threatened by him.
Police say that on Thursday, Aug. 24, at approximately 9:20 a.m., Police Officers Tyrone
Huggins, Cynthia Rivera, and Joshua Campoverde responded to the area of First and Washington Streets on reports of a man who had assaulted someone.
Upon arrival, they observed a man who fit the suspect description who "was highly agitated and yelling," said a police spokesperson.

The man, later identified as 39-year-old Lamar Woodward of Hoboken, continued to yell and shout as officers tried to speak with him, police say.
Sgt. Francis McCourt and Detective Vito Gigante arrived to assist.

Officer Jason Montalvo took a statement from the parking worker, who said that Woodward "yelled at and attempted to hit him from behind."
Police learned that Woodward had two active warrants out, one from Hoboken and one from the Hudson County Superior Court.
He was taken to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with disorderly conduct.
While police were processing Woodward, he became irate and began to yank his arm, which was handcuffed to the bench, causing himself to bleed from his wrist, police say.
He was taken to Hoboken University Medical Center by the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps, police say. When he was released, he was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
