HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Suspects are still being sought in a carjacking and a separate gunpoint robbery on a main artery through Hudson County in the early morning hours of Sunday and Monday.

Both crimes took place at gas stations on Tonnelle Avenue.

According to North Bergen police, on Sunday, March 31, at 5:18 a.m., two store clerks were robbed at gunpoint at the Shell Gas Station 1810 Tonnelle Ave.

They told police that a person entered the store and asked about a phone charger. Then the per brandished a firearm and told the clerks to get on the floor.

One of the clerks opened the register. The suspect took off with more than $2,000 in cash.

The suspect is described as a darked skinned male, wearing a black hooded jacket, black facemask, black pants with stripes and white sneakers.

The next day, April 1, at 2:09AM, a North Bergen resident, 33, was carjacked at gunpoint, police said.

The victim stated he parked his Range Rover by a gas pump at the BP station at 2510 Tonnelle Avenue. Then, he entered the convenience store.

While inside, a suspect entered the store and brandished a firearm at the victim. The suspect then demanded the victim's car keys. He took the keys and fled in vehicle.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and a facemask.

The suspect had been dropped off by a dark colored SUV, police said.

Both the suspect’s vehicle and the victim's vehicle fled the scene.

The North Bergen police said, in a release, "This is still an active investigation and details are still being confirmed. The individual(s) responsible for these actions have not been identified.
