HOBOKEN, NJ — Amanda's Restaurant, the 31-year-old dinner and brunch spot on Washington Street, is getting new owners.
Juan Mendoza, who owned the acclaimed restaurant with wife Juilanne, said in a social media video on Thursday, "We are proud to announce that we will be passing the baton on to a new generation of owners, Travis and his wife Abigail from the Elysian Cafe."
Juan said he first worked at Amanda's for 10 years as a server, manager, and bartender, and became an owner ten years ago.

The Elysian is another historic and popular spot on upper Washington Street. It's owned by Travis and Abigail Young.
"Our past 20 years here have been a true blessing," Mendoza said. "The biggest blessing has been our staff, and all of you, our customers."
He said the acclaimed restaurant, which has been highly rated by Zagat, is keeping its name.
The restaurant is named for the daughter of former co-owner David Roberts, who served as a councilman and mayor until 2009.
Amanda's can be found at 908 Washington St., Hoboken.
