
“Opera GoLightly,” a central New Jersey based light opera company, will be staging a production entitled “Love, Life, and Legendary Tales” at Grove Reformed Church, 1132 46th St. & Kennedy Blvd., on Saturday, June 29, 2013. The performance will be a benefit for Grove’s “Neighborhood Children’s Summer Ministry”. This year’s ministry will run from July 1 -5. The show will feature musical selections from Broadway musicals, operettas and operas.
Opera GoLightly, (formerly Operantics), is led by co-founders Janette Goleme, artistic director, and Lester Gesteland, acting president. Ms. Goleme is soprano soloist and section leader at Grove Church. Accompanist Dr. Martin Neron, is a professor at Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Choreographer/dancer Sara Morris, a member of Grove Church, is a teacher/dancer in Hudson County. The cast also includes: Lindsay Adkins, Tyler Barnick, Benjamin Berman, Samuel Fujii, Monica Garcia, Alyssa Lehman, Serena Ng, and Amy Suznovich. There is also children’s chorus, which includes several children from Grove Church. The narrator is Rev. Steven Germoso, the new pastor of the church.
Among the scenes performed in “Love, Life, and Legendary Tales” will be excerpts from West Side Story, Oklahoma, Pirates of Penzance, Hansel and Gretel, The Mikado, Vagabond King,Pearl Fishers, Carmen, South Pacific, Kiss Me Kate and many more!.

The performance will be at 7:00 P.M. Suggested ticket prices are $15 for adults under 65, $10 for seniors and students, and $5 for children under 12.
