Animal Shelter Offers Low-Cost Cat Spay-Neuter Day For Hoboken, Jersey City Pet Owners

The Liberty Humane Society will be hosting its first "Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Day" for cat owners in Hoboken and Jersey City on April 27.

Hoboken, NJ – The Liberty Humane Society will be hosting its first, public “Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Day” for cat owners in Hoboken and Jersey City on Wednesday, April 27.

The event will take place at the nonprofit animal shelter’s Jersey City facility at 235 Jersey City Boulevard.

Local cat owners interested in having their feline or an outdoor “community cat” spayed or neutered can register on the LHS website at www.libertyhumane.org.

The procedure will cost $30 per cat, with a two-cat limit per registered individual.

“LHS recently conducted an online poll of residents throughout Hudson County, with the highest concentration of responses in Hoboken and Jersey City,” Executive Director Irene Borngraeber said. “We found that many of these residents identified affordable spay and neuter services as their number one need, so we are opening up our spay/neuter clinic for them during this one-day event.”

There is no low-cost spay/neuter provider currently operating in Hudson County, according to the nonprofit.
