Arthur's Steakhouse Building In Hoboken May Reopen In Summer 2023

Signage at the former Arthur's Steakhouse in Hoboken, currently being dismantled, tells of a retail and residential complex to come.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Fans of Arthur's Tavern on Washington Street, a landmark steakhouse that closed in February, have wondered if it will return in some form, after the owners said it would be back but sold off some of the fixtures in March.

The owners had said they may return after extensive renovations, but left the timeline unclear.

A 2020 story in Jersey Digs said "extensive" renovations were planned. But in 2021, when the restaurant announced it would close, the owners did not respond to commenters who inquired about when they'd be back.

"Sounds to me like they aren't sure if they are closing for good," wrote one commenter.

"You’re coming back, right???" asked another.
