‘Bark In The Park’ Festival Will Aid Hoboken, Jersey City Animals

HOBOKEN, NJ — It’s time to Bark in the Park and support your local animal shelter, Hudson County.

The Liberty Humane Society, a nonprofit animal shelter that serves Hoboken and Jersey City, will hold its annual Bark in the Park fundraising event for 2016 on Oct. 1 in Hoboken’s Stevens Park from noon to 5 p.m.

One of the largest pet-centric festivals in Hudson County, the event also doubles as the largest fundraising effort of the year for the nonprofit. Activities will include a celebratory dog-walk/parade, a pet costume contest, live entertainment, a beer garden, a free bounce house, children's activities, food and local vendors.

As part of this year’s celebration, the LHS is offering free adoptions of cats and dogs until Sunday, Sept. 25.

“Every contribution towards Bark in the Park goes to support LHS's care of homeless animals who otherwise wouldn't get the care they need to thrive,” shelter staff wrote in an email newsletter.
