Bicyclist Wrestles With Suicidal Woman On George Washington Bridge
The woman had her foot on the rail and was trying to jump, police say.

A bicyclist traveling on the George Washington Bridge found himself locked in an unexpected struggle with an allegedly suicidal woman on Tuesday.
According to police, the biker was crossing the south walk of the bridge around 1:30 and was mid-span when he saw a woman put her foot on the rail in an attempt to jump.
Port Authority police arriving on the scene determined that the 27-year-old Bedford Hills woman was suicidal. She was handcuffed for safety reasons and taken to Bergen Regional Hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Neither the woman nor the bicyclist suffered injuries during the incident, police reported.
