HOBOKEN, NJ — Now that summer began last Tuesday and school's finally out, Hoboken residents are planning their summer fun.

The dates for residents to use the high school pool (and Weehawken pool too?) have not yet been announced by the Recreation Department — Patch asked the city again and is awaiting a response — but some upcoming events have been set by the Department of Cultural Affairs.

Always double check before heading over, particularly with possible weather cancellations.

And what about July 4 activities? Hoboken usually defers to its neighbors. This year, Jersey City is hosting a day of events, including a concert by Flo Rida and at night, Grucci fireworks on the Hudson. The Meadowlands Fair and Secaucus pool will also launch fireworks; get the full lineup of July 4 events and fireworks in the Hoboken area here, including cruises.
