Block Closed In Hoboken Whie Water Crews Fix Fire Line
The water company said that a block of western Hoboken is closed Tuesday morning as crews repair a fire line.

HOBOKEN, NJ — The water company serving Hoboken said Tuesday morning that a block on the west side of town has been closed while crews conduct repairs on a fire line.
Veolia Water said that Monroe Street, from Second to Third Street, will be closed during repairs.
They said that the break of the 6-inch line is "impacting water service for one building."

Earlier in the morning, the Hoboken police said that crews were contacted when a "water condition" was observed in the parking lot of 221 Jackson St.

Water line breaks in Hoboken have become a periodic occurrence as the city fixes its 100-year-old infrastructure. The city said that in 2021, "Hoboken had a total of 12 water main breaks, almost half the total of water main breaks in 2020."
