Car Crash At Hoboken School; Driver Gets DUI: Police
Hoboken police said the driver of a car that went careening into the basketball court of Wallace School will be charged with DUI.

HOBOKEN, NJ -- A two-car crash sent vehicles careening onto the basketball court of a Hoboken school on Thursday. No children or staff were injured in the collision, which took place at 11th and Willow streets at Wallace School, authorities said.
Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante said that a driver involved in the crash has been arrested and charged with driving while under the influence.
Ferrante asked anyone picking up children from afterschool programs to park on Clinton Street and walk to the main entrance via 13th Street. He asked other community members to avoid the area so emergency responders can safely handle the situation.

The Hoboken Fire Department and Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps were also at the scene of the crash.
According to the Hoboken Fire Department, firefighters extricated the driver, who received care from the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Two other were treated at the scene, the HFD stated.

Hoboken Public School officials issued a statement on the district's Twitter page:
"A robocall and email were sent out regarding a car accident at Wallace School basketball court area. All children in the Passport to Learning Program are safe. One student passing by was hit with some debris. Pick up on Clinton Street."
