Cat Rescued From Alleged Hoarding Situation In Hudson County

WATCH: The blind and deaf cat is available for adoption at the Liberty Humane Society.

Staff at the Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City – which services Hoboken in addition to other areas in Hudson County – recently shared the story of an alleged cat hoarding incident and an adorable feline named Bushmills that is now being offered for adoption at the nonprofit shelter.

According to a Tuesday social media post:

“Bushmills came to LHS after Animal Control got a call about a building with too many cats. Squatters there had been keeping nearly 30 cats, many with severe vision and hearing issues caused by untreated infections. While Bushmills is blind and almost deaf, he responds to affection with true warmth. He deserves a chance at a lifelong home just as much as the other lovable adoptables here at LHS.”
