Hoboken's public safety department gave an update after a child was injured by a car near school on Thursday.
HOBOKEN, NJ — After a child was injured by a car near a Hoboken school on Thursday morning, the city's public safety department said the student was taken to the hospital.

In a social media post, officials said that police responded at 8:15 a.m. Thursday to an elementary school on Ninth Street "on reports of an incident involving a vehicle and a child."

An on-scene investigation by the Traffic and Transportation Bureau determined that the child had accidentally collided with the car, they said.
"A vehicle was slowly exiting the street, and a child ran into the side of it," said the post. "The child was evaluated on the scene by Hoboken EMS, and transported to a hospital, at the request of the parents."

No charges have been filed at this time, officials said.
City public safety spokeswoman Marci Rubin said no further information is available.
