Connors School Improves Slightly According to DOE
The 2010 report cards were released last week by the NJ Department of Education.

The New Jersey Department of Education released its last week, showing that has made some improvement since previous years. Still, according to the report, Hoboken students aren't necessarily outperforming the state average.
Connors had 350 students in the 2009-2010 school year, 38 students less than in the previous year.
According to the report card an average school day at Connors is six hours and five minutes, which is 25 minutes less than the state average at six hours and 30 minutes.

Of the day, five hours and 35 minutes is used for instructional time, according to the report card. The state's average is five hours and 42 minutes of instructional time per day.

Third grade:
Partial Proficient Advanced Language 65.2% 34.8% 0% Math 30.4% 47.8% 21.7%
The district's average for third grade language proficiency in the 2009-2010 acedemic year was 48.3 percent and the proficiency level for math is 38.3 percent.
In the third grade level Connors saw a dramatic increase in the advanced math levels, going up from 10.6 to 21.7 percent.
Fourth grade:
The fourth grade proficiency levels for mathematics rose significantly, from 12.5 to 40 percent. There were also great improvements in students that tested at an advanced level for both language and math: in the 2008-2009 year, zero percent of students tested advanced in language, while this year, 2.2 percent did; in the 2008-2009 year, 2.5 percent of students tested advanced in math, while this year 15.6 percent did.
On the state level, 30.1 percent of New Jersey's students were proficient in language, which is slightly higher than the nation's 24.4 percent average.
Fifth grade:

Sixth grade:
The most significant changes from the 2008-2009 year to today was a rise in language proficiency scores, from 30.3 to 41.7 percent, and a rise in advanced language scores, from zero to 2.8 percent.
Seventh grade:
