Crash Near Lincoln Tunnel Slows Wednesday Traffic In NJ, NY

"Heavy delays westbound should be expected," officials stated following the three-vehicle accident.

A three-vehicle accident with two reported injuries slowed traffic near the Lincoln Tunnel on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Port Authority of NY/NJ, the accident took place at 11:47 a.m. on NJ-495 westbound at the base of Logan’s Ramp Lane # 6.

A female suffered hip pain and a man suffered neck pain as a result of the crash, authorities stated.

Emergency responders transported both to Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center.

Two summonses were issued, authorities stated.

“Heavy delays westbound should be expected,” Port Authority officials stated at the time of the accident.

NJ511 posted the following notice on Wednesday:

“As of 12:57 p.m., there are delays at the Lincoln Tunnel westbound from New York in Manhattan. The travel time is 25 minutes from the New York side to New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E, due to an incident on NJ 495 westbound.”

According to the Port Authority, the scene was cleared around 1:30 p.m. and the traffic condition westbound was moving free and clear as of that time.
