The Pizza Shop In Hoboken Reviewed By Dave Portnoy's Barstool Pizza
Dave Portnoy's one-bite review of The Pizza Shop in Hoboken included a ranking so high, it surprised him, he said.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Dave Portnoy, whose "Barstool Pizza" reviews have drawn millions of followers, may give a jumpstart to a relatively new pizza shop in a mile-square city full of pizza shops.
On Wednesday, Portnoy posted a glowing review of "The Pizza Shop" on the west side of Hoboken, saying it "bother[ed]" him to do so because the chefs told him they only learned to make pizza six months ago.
"I want my pizza people to be doing it for like 30 years, not six months," he said. "But I won't hold it against them...super crispy. What does this say? I love this pizza ... This is great pizza, it's crunchy, it's thin, it's tasty, it's a [expletive] great pizza. I don't know how they're going to keep up with demand. It's like a living room in there."

He said he was giving the pizza an 8.2, a high rating.
He noted that the owners wanted to open a full restaurant called Flour, but haven't gotten the permits yet. (Read more about Flour here.)

Then Portnoy had to leave, noting earlier that he was only in Hoboken for "a second" on Saturday.
Portnoy is the founder of Barstool Sports. His one-bite pizza reviews are a spinoff.
A commenter on a Twitter post about the review noted that Hoboken has many other beloved pizza shops, including on the west side: "Hoboken- Pizza capital of the world! 3 8s, 6 7s, plus Grimaldis, Dozzino and a ton of solid places Dave hasn’t been to."
