Woman Dies, 22 Left Homeless After Hudson County Fire
A woman died and 22 people were left homeless as a fire tore through several Union City buildings.
UNION CITY, NJ — A woman died and 22 people were left homeless when a fire tore through Union City on Saturday, officials said.
Around 3:45 p.m., Union City police were called to a fire at 3808 through 3812 Bergen Turnpike, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
Firefighters found a 74-year-old woman dead at 3808 Bergen Turnpike, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors did not release the name of the victim on Sunday morning.
Officials in neighboring Weehawken sent a message to residents late Saturday advising them of temporary power outages, as the fire affected a high-powered transmission line. They said PSEG was on the scene repairing it.

The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force, North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue, and the Union City Police Department are investigating, prosecutors said. No further information was available as of early Sunday.
