Jersey City Restaurant Week Deals And Destinations Announced: Try Something New

Jersey City was recently cited as a "next great foodie city" by Food & Wine Magazine. Now you can try dishes at dozens of ethnic eateries.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City, the second most populous city in New Jersey, has attracted residents of all ethnicities, and the restaurants are equally diverse. In fact, the city was recently cited as a "next great foodie city" by Food & Wine Magazine.

Gourmands will get a chance to try something new as the Jersey City Restaurant Association kicks off the fourth annual restaurant Week this Sunday, July 17 through July 31.

The organizers have posted videos and a search engine on jcrestaurantweek.com so patrons can search dining destination by type of food and neighborhood.

  • Freetown Road Project Eatery, Caribbean food in Journal Square.
  • Gussy's Cafe, a downtown "all day brunch" spot.
  • Rosita's Yah, featuring plant-based Mexican style cuisine in Journal Square.
  • Just Beclaws, a downtown spot featuring a Vietnamese Cajun seafood boil.

"We will be highlighting all the ways to dine in JC," said organizers, "not just amazing restaurants like Latham House and Krewe of McGinley Square but also food trucks, bakeries, cafes, pizzerias and specialty eateries offering many of the wonderfully diverse, food options available in Jersey City. Every one of these food businesses requires a tremendous amount of love and energy to be successful and Restaurant Week will give them all a chance to shine."

They added, "We are excited to welcome unique dining experiences at local gems such as Hard Grove, Paratha Junction, The Barge Inn, Babka Bailout, Brick Lane Curry House and Gussy’s Cafe."
