HypnoBirthing allows women to not fear, but embrace birth and really tune into the pregnancy and their bodies. For second time mothers, it is an invaluable tool that helps women deal with their fears yet have tremendous faith in themselves, thereby empowering her and making the woman control the experience from start to finish. The techniques used are also good for after birth, and in dealing with everyday stresses. For fathers/partners, skills learned include light touch massage, learning scripts and engaging husbands/partners in the experience. It’s an extra step in also empowering husbands/partners and preparing them for the birth of their child(ren). The practice does not interfere with doctors and hospitals and many doctors prefer anything that will aid in relaxing women for their labor.
Certified Hypnobirthing practitioner, Laura Williams, will lead a four week class that follows the Mongan Method. The method teaches you that, in the absence of fear and tension, or special medical circumstances, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labor.
