Family-Friendly Event Coming To Hoboken Cove: City Of Water Day
The free, family-friendly City of Water Day will take place in Hoboken on July 14. It will include kayaking, paddleboarding and "eco-talks."

HOBOKEN, NJ — On Saturday, July 14, Hoboken Cove will transform into the “City of Water” during a free, family-friendly event that will include kayaking, paddleboarding and educational “eco-talks.”
According to organizers, the festival will celebrate Hoboken Cove, “a unique spot for accessing the Hudson River” and a “protected habitat for marine and shore wildlife.” The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hoboken Cove at Maxwell Place Park, Sinatra Drive North near 11th Street in Hoboken. City of Water Day at the Hoboken Cove is supported in part by a grant from the Waterfront Alliance. Partners include the Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse, Resilience Paddle Sports, Fund for a Better Waterfront and Hoboken Residents for a Public Waterfront.

Organizers said:
“The Boathouse will offer free kayaking. Resilience Paddle Sports will provide an opportunity for paddle boarding. Naturalist Noelle Thurlow will lead a bioblitz, an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within a designated area. There will also be a series of educational opportunities – brief eco-talks about the migratory fish, shore birds and history of the Hudson River held throughout the day and workshops on water testing and environmental stewardship.”
