Feast Of St. Anthony Returns To Hoboken After 21-Year Absence
St. Anthony of Padua is the patron saint of things lost, sailors, and the poor and needy. Celebrate the feast in Hoboken through Saturday.
HOBOKEN, NJ — The St. Anthony Feast, a block party and street festival last held in Hoboken in 2003, has returned this year.
The fun, family-friendly feast day celebration takes place at St. Francis Hoboken from June 13-15.
It marks the celebration of St. Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of things lost, sailors ,and many other causes including the poor and needy.

"People moved away, got busy and schedules just didn't work for people to put the time into organizing it all," said Theresa Howard, explaining why the celebration died out for a while. "There had been efforts to try to restart it. Then covid happened. A team was finally able to get behind it to make it happen."
The celebration began Thursday, June 13 with mass at 7 p.m., followed by the old-school tradition of a procession of the St. Anthony statue around the neighborhood.

Friday and Saturday will include a block party on Third St. between Jefferson and Adams. The lineup includes food, fun, vendors games and a beer garden. There's no fee to attend.
