Flash Flood Warning Issued For Hudson County

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Amid a heat advisory and thunderstorm watch for the county, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning until 4 p.m., meaning flooding is imminent in the area.

The NWS said, "Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Newark, Jersey City, Yonkers, Elizabeth, New Rochelle, Flushing, Bayonne, Mott Haven, Hoboken, Plainfield, Bloomfield, East Tremont, Hackensack, Linden, Orange, Summit, Lyndhurst, Millburn,
Rutherford and Secaucus."

They advised residents to turn around rather than trying to drive or walk through floods. People have died during unexpected floods, including at least 28 in New Jersey last September during storm Ida.
