Flo Rida And Grucci Fireworks On The Hudson Planned For Jersey City's July 4 Celebration
Rapper Flo Rida will headline the annual July 4 celebration in Jersey City, NJ, with Grucci fireworks over the Hudson River.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Rapper Flo Rida will headline this year’s Fourth of July celebration in Jersey City, which will also include fireworks over the Hudson River. Shaquille O’Neal, a.k.a. DJ Diesel, and Funk Flex will each DJ their own sets prior to Flo Rida taking the stage, the city said.
Jersey City’s Independence Day celebration will be a daylong event, and in the past has drawn crowds of 150,000 people from all over the Tri-State area.
The event is likely to also include food trucks and other attractions that are yet to be announced, as they have in the past.

“Jersey City has transformed over our term to be one of the best renaissance stories in the country,” said Mayor Steven Fulop. “Jersey City residents deserve the best, and we have taken the opportunity to deliver a free day of fun for families that may not have the means to pay for these types of events.”
Past festivals have included the Village People (2016), Jersey City’s own Kool and the Gang (2017), Snoop Dogg (2018), Pitbull (2019), and local native Akon (2018 & 2019).

“We are excited to host this annual event on our waterfront to celebrate such an important day in our nation’s history by bringing the community together for fun, food, and entertainment,” said Elizabeth Cain, Executive Director of the Exchange Place Alliance. “Thank you to DEG Presents for helping us bring such talented artists to the stage for a memorable concert that will keep people on their feet dancing all night long.”
Following the music performances, fireworks will illuminate the sky with the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Fireworks by Grucci will launch the explosives from two barges located in the middle of the Hudson River with a large viewing area this year.
Spectators can watch the fireworks show along the Hudson River Walkway, from the north field at Liberty State Park, and most overlook areas in Jersey City Heights.
While there are no longer limits for outdoor gatherings, residents and visitors are encouraged to maintain all COVID precautions necessary at the time, the city said.
