Girl Recovering From Four Wounds After Hoboken Stabbing: Police

Police said a juvenile female from Jersey City was stabbed in Hoboken on Monday, allegedly by a 16-year-old Hoboken girl.

HOBOKEN, NJ — After a 16-year-old female Hoboken resident allegedly stabbed a juvenile Jersey City girl in Hoboken on Monday afternoon, police said Tuesday morning that the victim is recovering from four stab wounds at Jersey City Medical Center.

Police said that around 3:43 p.m. Monday, they got a call that a female was stabbed in the area of 532 Jackson St. by another female. Hoboken police units were in the area already.

Emergency Service Unit (ESU) Sgt. Luke Zeszotarski pursued a suspect toward 540 Marshall Drive, while ESU Officer Duke McCourt tended to the victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Zeszotarski apprehended the alleged suspect at 540 Marshall Drive. The suspect is a 16-year-old female from Hoboken, police said. She was taken into custody and brought to Hoboken Police Headquarters.

The victim, a juvenile from Jersey City, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance, where she is currently being treated.

Police would not release the age of the victim.

On Tuesday, police released the following update:

<blockquote>At this time, we can confirm the victim suffered four stab wounds and is currently in stable condition at a local hospital. The actor was charged and transported to a facility where she is being held. The weapon was recovered by Hoboken Police.

The [suspect] was charged with: Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Resisting Arrest (no officers injured).

The Hoboken Police Department is continuing increased patrols in the area.
