Gun, 129 Rounds Of Ammo Found During Hudson County Vehicle Stop: Prosecutor

The Hudson County Gang Task Force found a gun, ammunition, and suspected cocaine after stopping a man on a county road, prosecutors said.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Task Force found a gun, 129 rounds of ammunition, and suspected cocaine when they stopped a 31-year-old man on a county road on Thursday, prosecutors said.

As part of a narcotics investigation in North Bergen, officers stopped a car being driven by Ramon Lopez-Arias of West New York and found the illicit items, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

Lopez-Arias is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, they said, as well as possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute (cocaine), and possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense.

The Gang Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of 2810 Paterson Plank Road after receiving information that Lopez-Arias was in possession of a weapon and narcotics, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

They then conducted a court-authorized search, prosecutors said.
