Hardy Hoboken Kids Battle Storm To Build Snowmen; More Snow May Be On The Way (See When)
Do you want to build a snowman? As snow fell through morning, Hoboken kids built snowmen, even on stoops. More snow's in the forecast.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Do you want to build a snowman? Hoboken kids — who got a rare and true (non-remote) snow day — did so on Tuesday even as the storm continued into early afternoon. Two snow creatures were spotted on stoops Wednesday.
Speaking of spotting, the National Weather Service spotter for Hoboken reported an accumulation of 4.8 inches by 1:15 p.m. that day, the NWS said.
Christine Johnson, the superintendent of the public schools, said in messages on Monday that the snow day was called due to the timing of the storm as well as the snowfall prediction. While streets were clear just before morning rush hour Tuesday, they soon became covered in snow that continued falling through noon.
