High Tide: 'Flood Statement' Issued For Hudson County This Evening
Even though it's been only drizzing Wednesday, the NWS says Hudson County could experience flooding at high tide tonight. Find out when.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — While Hudson County has only experienced drizzling on Wednesday after a day of rain, there's still a flooding threat during high tide later, the National Weather Service said.
The NWS said they "expect" flooding in some areas of Hudson County Wednesday evening, as well as in eastern Essex and eastern Union counties.
The coastal flood statement applies to 5-8 p.m. this evening.

High tide will occur in the Hoboken area at 6:59 p.m.

- Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level is expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
- WHERE: In New Jersey, Hudson, Eastern Essex and Eastern Union Counties. In New York, Richmond (Staten Island) County.
- WHEN: This evening`s high tide.
- IMPACTS: Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor coastal flooding is possible with evening high tides into the weekend.
A "flood statement" is a "bulletin issued to provide updated information about flooding along main stem rivers, or important creeks," the NWS says in their list of definitions.
