Historic Hoboken Synagogue Celebrates Centennial with Weekend Festival

Event will feature exhibits, tours, a concert and a block party.

The Star of Israel, a historic synagogue in Hoboken and a landmark of the local Jewish community, will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a weekend festival from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17.

A unique piece of architecture as well as a house of religion, the synagogue is listed on the National and New Jersey Registers of Historic Places, and was dedicated in 1915, making it one of the oldest active synagogues in New Jersey.

Local members of the Jewish community are organizing a free weekend festival from May 15 to 17 to mark the occasion.
