Hoboken saw a healthy drop in overall crime from 2017 to 2018, according to its police chief.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken saw a big drop in crime from 2017 to 2018, according to its police chief, who recently released annual statistics for the year.
On Jan. 16, Hoboken Police Chief Ken Ferrante announced that the final 2018 crime statistics and closure by arrest rates have been completed. Topping the data was an encouraging stat, Ferrante said: the city saw a 17.9% reduction in total crime compared to 2017.
“I want to give a heartfelt thank you and give major credit to all of our uniformed and civilian members of the Hoboken Police Department’s uniformed, investigative and training/administrative bureaus, for providing 365/24/7 dedication to the residents of Hoboken,” Ferrante stated.
